Title: When adding a drop of detergent to a plate of milk with food coloring, what kind of milk produces the best swirling of color: 1%, 2%, or whole milk? What happens to plain water?
    Subject: Chemistry
Grade level: Primary School - Grades K-3
    Academic Level: Ordinary
    Project Type: Experimental
    Cost: Low
Awards: Second place, Canada Wide Virtual Science Fair (2005)
Affiliation: Canada Wide Virtual Science Fair (VSF)
    Year: 2005
Description: Adding color to milk and then soap can make nice swirling patterns. What will happen with water or different kinds of milk (skim milk, 2 percent, homogenized milk)? Add one drop of four different colours of food colouring in each corner of the different milk plates. Observe and record effects. Add one drop of dish detergent into the centre of each plate. Observe and record.
